Matt Hall, PhD

Matt has a PhD in sedimentology from the University of Manchester, UK, and 20-something years’ experience in the energy industry. He has worked for Statoil (now Equinor), Landmark, and in 2005 to 2010 at ConocoPhillips as a geophysical advisor. Matt has written various papers, articles, conference papers, and book chapters, and edited 3 books.

Evan Bianco, MSc

Evan has a Master’s degree in geophysics from the University of Alberta, Canada, and ten years’ experience as an industry consultant in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Evan's interests span a range of disciplines, from time-lapse seismic in oil sands to integrated interpretation, geomodelling, and cartography.

Diego Castañeda, PhD

Diego finished his PhD in astrophysics in 2016. He has several years of experience applying machine learning to scientific problems, both as part of his research and in competing in data science contests. He is contributing to Agile's recent research and development projects around machine learning. Diego is based in Toronto, Ontario.

Robert Leckenby, PhD

Robert earned a PhD in fractured reservoir behaviour from Imperial College London in 2005. Since then, he has gained experience in both exploration and development in the UK and in Switzerland, where he has worked at Addax Petroleum and Oryx Petroleum. Since 2016, Robert has been increasing his competence as a programmer, learning both Python and JavaScript. Robert is based in Nyon, near Geneva, Switzerland.

Kara Turner, MSc

Kara has a Master's degree in physical geography from the University of Durham, UK. She is the managing editor of Agile Libre, Agile's publishing imprint. She has 20 years' experience in publishing, having previously managed geography titles at Reed Elsevier in London, production at Sandviks Bokforlag in Norway, editorial at Weigl in Calgary, and again at Altitude in Canmore, Alberta.


Tracey Lothian, BA honours

Tracey has a degree in English and a degree in linguistics, both from St Mary's University, Halifax, and has several years' experience in trade publishing. She joined Agile Libre part time in 2017 and has been managing the 52 Things book series. She works in Mahone Bay with Kara.
